FILIPPA K X STINARAND

Introducing an exclusive capsule collection of custom made pieces crafted from upcycled Filippa K materials. The project was born from a natural match of values and took shape through a collaborative process at Filippa K’s Stockholm atelier. From the Filippa K archives of second hand items, samples and claims, Stina identified pieces with the potential of new life to inform her creative vision. The resulting capsule collection of six expressive designs leverages imperfections to redefine beauty in fashion.

THE LAYERED PUFFER

Layered puffer jacket with a high neck body-con zip-front dress underneath.

Constructed from four Filippa K responsible down puffer jackets in water-repellent polyamide, and four pairs of Soft Sport leggings.
Spherical structure created using circular panels of deconstructed puffer jacket layered on top of one another. Each element of the original garment is used resulting in leftover details on the panels, such as snap buttons and pockets.
Layers trimmed with blue and orange satin-wrapped cotton rope with a heavy zig-zag embroidery. Long-sleeve, mid-thigh length base layer made from the technical jersey legging material.

THE MESH DRESS

Floor-length dress with a straight silhouette and asymmetric mesh layers.
Constructed from scraps of three upcycled Filippa K dresses and two prototype garments in various materials such as silk, satin, and triacetate.
The base garment is a modified past collection viscose dress. Stinarand's signature three dimensional fabric technique is achieved by laser cutting the outer layers to create a fringed mesh, which is fastened to the lining by fabric covered buttons at the neckline.
Black lines between the panels are made from high-shine textile foil on discarded plastic.
Designed with extra long sleeves, broad shoulders, a straight boat neck opening, and adjustable belted waist.

THE COLLAGE CARDIGAN

Oversized cardigan crafted in a collage pattern constructed from five upcycled mohair and wool Filippa K sweaters and leather belt material. Stinarand's signature “stiff and stretchy” wave design technique is achieved by stitching together alternating colours of knitwear panels with sections of black embossed croco leather.
Floor length with a wide flat collar and clean front opening. Long sleeves with deep arm openings. Fully lined with acetate and heavy wool.

THE SHIRT DRESS

Mini dress with a semi-circle structured top and slim skirt. Constructed from four upcycled Filippa K menswear cotton poplin shirts, two womenswear cotton poplin dresses, and six pairs of Soft Sport gloss leggings in stretch polyamide.
Gathered technique at the front and back is achieved by stitching the shirt material alongside the stretch legging fabric.
Loose top with broad shoulders, wide sleeve openings and a high neckline. Half lined from the waist up. Skirt section is made from panels of legging material, stitched together for a fitted mid-thigh length silhouette.

THE WAVY KNIT

Slim knit in viscose elastane, constructed from two upcycled and hand dyed Filippa K milano knit sweaters. Stinarand's signature “stiff and stretchy” wave design technique is achieved from stitching foil-coated heavy cotton canvas ribbons with the knitted material, creating a unique wavy appearance at the front and sides of the garment. Fitted silhouette with vertical seams, a below hip hem, and deep v-neck opening.

THE METALLIC BLAZER

Oversized past season Filippa K wool blazer reinterpreted with a mirrored pattern.
Designed with classic tailoring details and a slightly fitted silhouette at the waist.
Printed through a heat transfer process with an abstract pattern of metallic plastic foil in blue, silver, and holographic green/orange.
Original garment has been mended by hand to resolve a sleeve seam and small hole. Fully lined.
